WHAT IS HOME INSURANCE?

When you purchase a home, you are also required to purchase home owner's insurance with it. This covers any loses or damages that happen in or on the property for various reasons. It will also protect the homebuyer from liability if any accident occurs in the home or on the property. This payment is typically added to your monthly mortgage payment. 

DO I NEED A REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY AS WELL?

Any real estate closing involving a lender is to be conducted by a licensed attorney. This is because in Massachusetts, the practice of closing transactions for buyers and sellers when there is a home loan is considered the practice of law. Closings that do not include a lender such as all- cash offers will have an escrow account opened by a title company or an attorney.
